The color gray, farmhouse aesthetics and the exposed industrial piping look are out. Warm colors like beige and cream, immersive outdoor spaces and less exterior maintenance are in.
 
A real estate agent since 1991, Christy Crouch has seen trends come and go in the housing market. And that includes not only the amenities within a house but even the way houses are bought and sold.
 
“We’ve sold houses by text, and I’m talking the entire transaction,” said Crouch, Realtor owner and team leader of The Crouch Team. “Even with being in the business this long, that is something I never imagined. Of course, the majority of clients still revel in the in-person, on-site experience, but it still goes to show you how the evolution of technology has definitely made things faster and more efficient. I mean, there is never a boring moment in this business.”
 
Crouch said staying ahead of the latest trends and simultaneously understanding the ever-changing operational aspects of the real estate industry are critical to delivering the best service to clients and fulfilling their home needs.
 
Over the years, she has hired family members to join her in growing the business, including her daughter, Jordin, her son, Seth, and daughter-in-law, Sadi. Crouch said the benefit of working closely with family ensures that each person has a vested interest in every client.
 
“Rather than one agent trying to manage every single thing at any given moment, there are four of us here, always available to answer any questions a client might have, show a home at a moment’s notice, or whatever else that might transpire,” she said. “We really make a conscious effort to provide excellent service to every single buyer and seller in our community.
 
 
For Crouch, it’s a privilege.
 
“It’s the American dream to own a home. It’s the smart way for an individual to build wealth, and being part of the process and helping someone achieve that dream is quite an honor.”
 
The Crouch Team, which is family-owned and-operated, is affiliated with RE/MAX All Points. The Roanoke native said her team’s clientele includes first-time homebuyers, seasoned sellers, families who are relocating, investors and even seniors transitioning to assisted living. Her expertise also extends to development and new construction projects. The team serves the entire Roanoke area, including all outer lying areas such as Smith Mountain Lake and the New River Valley.
 
Beyond buying and selling, Crouch devotes time to educating up-and-coming Realtors and young adults as part of her HEAT — Humble Extraordinary Accelerated Training — mentoring program, which she developed. Crouch said she has mentored and trained 20 newly licensed National Association of Realtors members, not to mention her own family members, helping them kickstart their careers.
 
As for civic engagement, The Crouch Team is deeply involved in making a positive impact throughout the community. For each home sold, her team makes a donation to a charity or foundation of the client’s choice.
 
“I’ve learned more about our very own community through these donations,” Crouch said. “It’s been a wonderful way to connect on a deeper level and be able to make an impact.”
 
In addition to her work in real estate, Crouch is the co-author of two published books — one focused on real estate and the other on empowering young adults. When she's not serving clients or mentoring new agents, she enjoys writing, reading, playing piano and board games, staying active with running and weightlifting, and playing competitive pickleball at the state-of-the-art Performance Pickleball facility — all while cherishing time with her family and pets.
 
Crouch’s achievements and contributions to the community have earned her numerous accolades, including induction into the REMAX Hall of Fame and the Circle of Legends.
